No, it isn’t. We’ve already discussed about it A LOT in this blog. Gypsy, or Gipsy, is a proper name, and it is sometimes used as an ethnic slur, but that’s only the ignorance of who’s talking.
After someone pointed out the question I got informed (from people, books, paper and my university). It is not, in fact (also, it is the term used in literature, e.g. The Virgin and the gipsy, by Lawrence). Saying it is an ethnic slur is reverse racism and doesn’t help at all. I both hate with all my heart racism and reverse racism: no one is better than another, we’re all just different and differences are amazing.
Please stop it.
