“The Gladiator is a beautiful, intense program itself, so you’re probably willing to see a clean version of it, but if you know the history, watching it at Worlds is as painful as legendary. Watching him struggle, fall, get up, fall again and not making it is like a dying lion, and always brings tears to my eyes. Yags intensity in the slow parts is a movie; there is a moment, during the program (3:20 in the video), when he’s just giving the audience a look, one single look and you suddendly realize he’s not performing the gladiator, he is the gladiator.”
