#55. Gordeeva and Grinkov - Vocalise
The harmony Katia and Sergei had together added whimsical and unmatched quality to their (amazing) technical and artistic skills. Maybe it was their love for each other, maybe their pure joy in a rink. Marina Zoueva, explaining the choreography for this number, said that if Rodin’s sculpture “The Kiss” could come to life, this is what it would become.
You can watch Rodin’s sculpture here and this amazing program here.

Ekaterina Gordeeva, Remembering Sergei.
This is so heartbreaking. Maybe not everybody know that Marina Zoueva first used Mahler here, for Grinkov commemoration gala, and V/M performance at the Olympics is a sort of homage to Gordeeva and Grinkov (you can recognize it also from some positions). I can’t stop crying everytime I watch it.
