The Opera on Ice yesterday was absolutely mesmerizing. Tha Arena made the whole show so different: it was magical and unforgettable!
We left home at 15.30 to be sure to get some good seats, and met this guy who stole all my sweets, but then… whoa! Stéphane was fa-bu-lo-us, unique, even with an injury from the day before he was the only one getting a huge standing ovation - he is amazing, I love the way he doesn’t make any noise with the blades on the ice, nothing! And he was able to perform Wilhelm Tell too! (the rink was so tiny I’m still trying to understand how, but the straight-line step sequence became a sort of diagonal-and-then-some-curves-and-hyperboles footwork, LMAO)
Pang & Tong were pretty amazing, they got a lot of ovations with their fantastic programs, difficult yet so elegant, Carolina was as usual the most graceful creature of mine (and Paolo is now with her and Qing Pang), Anna and Luca had some relly, really lovely choreo, their interpretation is always so deep and beautiful and they’re always the cutest of all (shame on the guy who introduced them as “artistic pair”, so the not-skating-acknowledged public was all “then why don’t they do jumps and throws? aren’t they good enough?”), Totmianina and Marinin performed a stunning and moving Turandot (I also searched for Yags among the vip seats, but couldn’t find him, ehe), then Sandhu, Delobel and Schoenfelder, the Hot Shivers… marvellous!
Fra learned a lot from the course, and he was commenting spread eagles and jumps and looking for Stéphane with me during the warm-up (Steph is always SO funny during the warm-up)… he actually catched him before me, grr!
I’m not sure, but Salome may have created the choreo: she was there all the time, coordinating everybody - elegant as usual.
It will be on tv on Dec, 25th (and that was funny because it was basically a summer day and they were all greeting us, “Merry Christmas everybody!”)
