PLAINSONG

for a secondA plainsong is a body of chants used in the Catholic liturgies, consisting in a single, unaccompanied melodic line. This song is from Disintegration, their 8th album, released in 1989: due to the gloomy and aching atmosphere (great use of hallucinogetic drugs was helping that), the label thought it was going to be their commercial suicide; instead, it became Roberth Smith & Co. commercial peak.
Plainsong is the opening of the album, an introspective, slow travel; surely not the most famous song in the album, where we can find classics as Lovesong, Pictures of you or Lullaby, but it is a very peculiar song, orchestral, melancholic, almost religious in its thoughts about time passing by - but then, a moment has been saved: that smile.

2011 GSA again: Jeff Buttle, aka the same variety. The quality of his skating allows him to perform both lyrical, delicate programs and lively ones.
Although I prefer the Enigma variations performance (over here), I must say that I really have fun watching the Daft Punk program (here)! Jeff is the other one who could just stay there and simply skate, no jumps, no choreo, being still amazing to watch. I know in my heart he is second as a show skater, but he’s the best second I’ve ever seen! Not to mention his spread eagle, my favourite.
Everyone knows I’m in love with Farrucas, but I honestly think this one is still unmatched.

Ok this is one of the funniest moment I’ve ever watched.. Sort of “Hallo—Oh gods!!” If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can see scared Stephane it in this KOI backstage at 2:44 (but the whole scene starts at 1:18, and continues with Stephane telling his mini-me in a musicbox to spin faster and other hilarious moments..).
Anyway, all the videos about KOI backstage are really funny, they deserve a look! ;)
Her SP were absolutely stunning. I’ve never adored female skating as much as male skating, but she made me fell in love with her gracefulness in a way that nobody else can. Not Yuna, not another one. And there was a standing ovation at the end (for a SP! not very often, I’d say). Oh, I miss so much those years with Carolina, Sasha Cohen, Lambiel at their best! I’m glad she won bronze this year (an amazing SP too)
Best time lapse ever. I just can’t breathe watching it. Please, please, full screen.
